These Terms of Business set out the basis on which Meridian Insurance Ltd provides services to you. Please read them carefully. Using our service means you accept these terms.
Meridian Insurance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Registration No. 967284). You can check this on the Financial Services Register at register.fca.org.uk or by calling 0800 111 6768.
We act as an independent insurance broker. We give advice and arrange cover on the basis of a fair and personal analysis of the market. We are not tied to any particular insurer.
We are usually paid by commission from the insurer, which is included in the premium quoted to you. In some cases we may charge an arrangement or administration fee. This will always be shown to you in writing before you accept the policy.
You must take reasonable care to answer the questions we ask honestly and to the best of your knowledge. Providing false or misleading information may result in your policy being voided or a claim refused.
Premiums are payable in full at inception unless instalment terms have been agreed in writing. We handle client money in accordance with FCA CASS rules and hold it in a designated client account.
You have a statutory right to cancel most personal policies within 14 days of receiving your policy documents. Refunds will be processed less any time-on-cover premium and a reasonable administration fee.
You should report any claim or potential claim to us as soon as possible. We will help you through the claims process and act as your representative with the insurer.
We aim to provide a high standard of service. If you are unhappy, please see our Complaints procedure. Eligible complainants may refer unresolved complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation if we cannot meet our obligations. Further information is available at fscs.org.uk.
We maintain a conflicts policy designed to prevent conflicts from adversely affecting your interests. A copy is available on request.
We process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
